Lime plaster workshop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Based on our survey, the most requested 5-day hands-on training to learn how to make, apply and finish lime plaster is coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lime plaster workshop is suitable for people who have no previous experience with lime plaster as well as people who already have some experience and wish to receive further training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will work on specially prepared sample boards, stands and wall surfaces. Participants are free to take the results of their experimentations with the materials with them. Any materials necessary for further independent experimentation can be purchased at a discount price set for the participants of the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lime, aggregates and natural fibers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lime (CaOH2) is the second oldest binder after clay, which mankind has used in various construction and finishing mixtures. We will talk about how lime is produced, what are air lime, hydraulic lime and hydraulic additives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To obtain construction and finishing materials, in addition to the binder, we also need fillers, which can be various sands, gravels, mineral light fillers, and suitable crushed old construction and finishing materials can also be reused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to mineral fillers, natural fibers can also be used in suitable places to improve the technical or physical properties of materials and to save the use of non-renewable natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stone buildings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We will talk about the expediency of restoring stone buildings and walls, factors that damage them, moisture and salts, damage detection, technical condition assessment, repair, conservation and stone wall insulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will take a thorough tour of Eestimaaehitus’<\/a> stone building and learn about various insulation and finishing solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the practical part, we familiarize ourselves with the necessary tools, prepare our own mixtures and see what ready-made mixtures are available on the market, learn how to clean a natural stone wall and fill joints, and prepare it for lime plaster work.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>

Lime plaster<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lime plaster is suitable for finishing both modern and historical facades, but it is also perfect for interiors, including wet rooms, and for surfaces in direct contact with water using special mixtures and techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lime plaster protects structures from fire, is open to water vapor diffusion, helps to balance the relative humidity of the rooms and, due to its high pH level, inhibits the growth of molds and bacteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop, we will introduce the properties of lime plaster and lime plaster systems for different substrates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the practical part, we learn about the preparatory work and the necessary tools, we prepare our own mixtures and see what ready-made mixtures are available on the market, we learn how to install and reinforce lime plaster and finish with fine finish lime plasters.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>
